PFN Demands Justice After Deadly Kwara Attack on Communities
The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has called on Christians nationwide to pray for justice and restoration following a deadly attack on communities in Kaiama Local Government Area, Kwara State. The group expressed confidence that the perpetrators would not go unpunished and that divine intervention would aid efforts to bring them to account.
In an interview with Saturday PUNCH, Bishop David Bakare, the National Secretary of PFN, described the assault on Woro and Nuku communities as a “grave crime” and a huge loss for families and residents affected. He said Christians were united in prayer for the victims and for strength to be given to security agencies to apprehend those responsible.
“We mourn with the families of the victims of the Kwara attack,” Bishop Bakare said. “The loss was colossal. This heinous act cannot go unanswered, and even God himself will not be silent against such evil.”
He emphasised that members of the fellowship were offering prayers not only for justice but also for peace and comfort for those still traumatised by the incident. While urging citizens to remain hopeful and united in the face of adversity, the cleric reiterated that divine help and human efforts together would lead to healing and accountability.
The PFN leader also praised the response from government officials following the attack. He acknowledged the visit of Vice President Kashim Shettima to the affected area and said such actions demonstrated concern and responsiveness by authorities.
Bishop Bakare expressed confidence that the government and security forces would succeed in restoring peace and that attacks in Kwara and other parts of the country would soon be a thing of the past with sustained efforts.
The plea for prayers and divine justice comes amid a broader backdrop of insecurity in parts of the North Central region, where communities have faced deadly ambushes. Recent reports suggest many lives were lost in the assault, with survivors calling for heightened security and justice for families.
As Nigeria continues to grapple with complex security challenges, faith leaders like those in PFN continue to play a role in advocating for peace, community support, and spiritual solidarity for victims of violence.
