Newcastle thrash Everton 4–1 in ruthless display at Goodison Park
It was a night to forget for Everton and a triumphant return to winning ways for Newcastle United, as the Magpies delivered a devastating 4–1 victory at Goodison Park. From the opening whistle, Newcastle attacked with purpose and precision, leaving Everton reeling.
Barely 55 seconds into the game, Malick Thiaw headed home from a corner to give Newcastle the lead, the fastest Premier League goal of the season and the spark that ignited their dominance. That early goal seemed to shatter Everton’s confidence, and from there the floodgates opened.
Around the 25‑minute mark, Lewis Miley slotted in Newcastle’s second, capping off a slick move and punishing a sloppy defensive moment from Jordan Pickford. As half time approached, Nick Woltemade added a third a composed chip just before the break that left Everton shell‑shocked.

The second half offered little respite for the home side. Thiaw completed his brace from a set piece, heading in Newcastle’s fourth to seal the emphatic win. Everton managed a consolation through Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall but by then the damage was already done.
Newcastle’s performance was a masterclass in ruthless efficiency: sharp attacking play, clinical finishing, and a defence that barely let Everton settle. For Everton, it was a bruising reminder of frailties at the back especially in the absence of their regular defensive cohesion.
With this win, Newcastle climbs the table, momentum clearly on their side. Everton, meanwhile, must regroup fast if they hope to recover from this drubbing.
