Troops of the Nigerian Army have neutralized six terrorists and rescued a kidnapped underage girl during a fierce offensive in the Sububu Forests of Maradun Local Government Area, Zamfara State.

According to Captain David Adewusi, the Media Information Officer for Operation FANSAN YAMMA, the mission was executed by the 8 Division Garrison Strike Force under Sector 2.

The operation is part of a broader, sustained military effort to dismantle terrorist enclaves and restore security across the state.

The offensive commenced at Indulumu village, where troops engaged the insurgents in a gun battle, killing two fighters and recovering an AK-47 rifle.

The military subsequently advanced to Ruduno village, where they encountered stiff resistance. After overpowering the group, troops killed four additional terrorists and recovered another AK-47 rifle, a magazine loaded with 28 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, and two motorcycles used by the bandits.

During a tactical sweep of the forest following the fire exchange, troops successfully rescued a kidnapped victim identified as Halira Ibrahim.
